Shutters are increasingly being seen as a staple of modern interior design on the UK as we realise what many continental Europeans have known for centuries – that there is an alternative to traditional curtains, blinds and doors which carries with it is own unique set of benefits.

When most people think of a shutter they are likely to imagine a typical square window shutter but one their most appealing features is the variety of shapes, styles and materials they can come in and therefore the number of different functions they can serve. Shutters can be installed not only to adorn a window space but can also be used to replace interior doors – especially cupboard and wardrobe doors – room dividers and conservatory blinds.  The versatility of shutters means that they a are also available in both traditional styles, such as plantation shutters, as well as modern contemporary designs

Light is one of the most necessary things a home needs. Although one turns on multiple switches daily, he or she might be unaware of the options that they can provide.

You’ll find that it can provide multiple different vibes in ones abode. Knowledge of these options often are unexplored, and left ‘in the dark’. Understanding the possibilities different lighting can offer, allows one the opportunity to customize, and personalize the lighting in his or her household.

Some view office renovation work as a dreadful chore, some find it a financial burden. But the plain fact is that, for a business to grow, constant office renovation is essential and necessary to maintain such growth. Rather than treating it as a burden, office renovation work should be viewed as a sign of things to come. Actually, office renovations are worth celebrating because the need for refurbishing means your business has made enough progress to make the current style and layout obsolete. Once you have made the decision to start refurbishing your office space, you can start thinking about designs and layouts. Even with a tight budget, professional advice can go a long way to create a whole new office space.

The floor of your office represents the most used commodity of the entire vicinity, so naturally it suffers to most wear and tear. Even the best and most expensive carpeting and tiling would disintegrate over certain periods. When it comes to renovation works, it is definitely wise to replace the carpets and tiles to ensure a fresher and livelier atmosphere. Although it might cost a significant outlay, replacing the carpets is definitely worth it in the long run.

I have absolutely fallen in love with the Moroccan theme that seems to be taking over the interior design magazines. It’s very simple to do and can be achieved even on a budget. The one that thing that I love about this decor, is that you have to re-do your entire living room with the thought that the room won’t match the rest of the house. What I propose is simple, if you have a spare bedroom or extra living space then decorate it as a Moroccan style ‘snug’. It’s colourful, comfortable and involves creating an area in your home to relax and enjoy.

One of the first things when thinking about creating your little ‘snug’ is comfort. Afterall, you don’t want to create a room modern, too clean and uncomfortable. This is a place you can lounge and relax in whether it be with your partner or your friends. It’s something that will definitely be a hit with your friends and guests and something you yourself can be extremely proud of. To achieve this Moroccan look, first start with colour, reds, oranges and yellows are soothing and ‘passionate’ colours that all blend nicely together. You can even bring in some dark purple colours to give your room more definition which is a personal recommendation after doing this myself.
